19 - 20 November 2009
The theme for this year's conference is "The Power of You". This theme is particularly relevant as a new generation of web-based technologies has emerged which allow you to create, connect and collaborate with learners, colleagues and experts. These technologies are creating new ways of thinking about the role of an educator.
So what does an educator in this new age look like? Are they embracing these new learning technologies? If they are how are they using them to foster participation, collaboration and a sense of community within and outside the classroom?
Our Keynote and Featured Speakers will challenge and extend your thinking about learning technologies. Our Case Study Speakers are real-life educators who are using these new technologies to improve their pedagogical practice. They are engaging and extending their learners in ways traditional methods can't. In the process they're creating relationships, sharing knowledge and teaching participatory skills like - teamwork, discernment, negotiation and collaborative problem solving.
Technology does have its advantages as an educational tool. But it's just that - a tool. It's you, the educator who will match the tool to the learning goals so that it will challenge, inspire, motivate, encourage and help your learners.
How will you use the power?
